Am I taller or is it a conspiracy?

I am not fan of this look: you know the one where you see a young girl (or even an older girl) running around with her belly hanging out of her shirt (and she is NOT pregnant.) I do not like observing VERY closely the chub on one's belly, especially not a stranger. And definitely not my own. There really is nothing worse to me then seeing the pale whiteness of one's belly hanging out and it is usually in roll form... blech!

So why is it that every shirt I own pre-baby is suddenly a shirt that shows off the above mentioned pale white roll of my tummy?! No matter how much weight I have lost (or gained), no matter the size of the shirt - this is the way all of my pre-baby shirts appear on me. What the heck? Is it possible that all of that baby made me taller? I mean HOORAY for me but I am fairly certain I am still 5 foot 2 and 3/4 quarters (thank you very much.) Maybe it is some vast universal conspiracy put on by major US retail stores? Maybe!?

The intelligent part of my TV addled brain knows that my body has changed since pregnancy and I did not bounce back like some Hollywood babe but COME ON people, I just want to wear a dang t-shirt without showing off my mid section. To feel comfortable about a shirt and not have to hike it DOWN all the time...

All of this was written while *SOBBING* uncontrollably and also clutching a bag of candy corn to my chest (10 bags for $10 bucks at Kroger - evil Kroger trying to make me fat...)

I definitely think that my ribcage is permanently wider since having a baby, which causes some things to ride up more. Luckily, my torso is about 10 inches long to begin with, so most shirts still cover.

Also, I am 4'11" AND THREE-QUARTERS.

I love my 3/4. Holy shit - you are 4'11?!?! I always feel like I am shortest person in the world so that rocks!

Hmm, I never thought of my rib cage expanding. I already had a gigantic rib cage to begin with... That is an EXCELLENT explanation which I plan to use... Thanks!

Can I use that excuse too?? I'm really in need of one these days. How else can I justify the huge shopping spree I'm about to go on? ;)

I think every woman who has ever had a baby should us this one - OMG it would explain every thing (QUITE LOOKING AT MY BUTT, I know I know - it SO does not explain that!)

Oh yeah! ME TOO! ME TOO! My rib cage is wider! Surely my pelvis is wider which has caused my hips to get wider too (no mention that my babies were delivered via c-section)!

MMM, I like that too - rib cage and pelvis. That is truly the ticket ;)
