My baby isn't a baby anymore...

but he will always be my baby, right?! Ah, he is two. Yes indeedy. We had the party on Saturday. It was a blast. We could not have asked for a more perfect weekend weather wise! It was sunny, not too hot with the right amount of wind... and well you get the idea. Matthew was a happy little peanut all weekend long. He loves his gifts and seemed to thoroughly enjoy his party. Thank you to everyone who could make it to his little party. We appreciate that you all could be there to celebrate such a huge milestone in our lives!

I think it just hit Kevin this morning when we walked into BDLC and the teachers all said "look another two year old in our midst." I think that sort of floored Kevin. Like 'OMG he is really two. He is not a baby but a little boy and where did that time go between baby hood and little boy-dom!' The look on Kevin's face was somewhat priceless actually.

Not to change the subject, but we had a wonderful weekend even beyond the party. I will try to get some photos up soon. Matthew L.O.V.E.S the sandbox that daddy built. He will proudly tell us - "Look. Sandbox Daddy Built." He played in that thing all weekend long. Morning, noon and night. Best money we ever spent.

We also had a blast at the park on Sunday. Matthew went down the curvy slide 90 million times and tried climbing everything and was all about saying "hi" to the big kids running around. He even sat in the swing for longer then 30 seconds.

And finally we grilled out on the pathetic, wind tossed, broken grill -we put fears of gas and explosions aside and did it! It worked and the only explosion came... ah, well let's not go there! At any rate, we made couscous and I added all kinds of spices to it with a little freshly grated parm. We have not had it in awhile because I think we were burned out on it. Matthew loved the stuff. He stuffed all of it in his mouth with his little fist and said 'more please'! I was delighted. He always liked it in the past but I think we forgot how much he liked it. After all who would not like "spherical granules which are made by rolling and shaping moistened semolina wheat and then coating them with finely ground wheat flour."

We just use the quicky kind because I do not have time to cook it for an hour and a half or whatever the heck the real stuff calls for and I found this whole wheat kind that is tasty even without all the spices (or at least I think so but I am a weird one like that...) I need to find some new recipes for couscous so if you have 'em, please pass them along. We need them. We get in a rut with foods. We both love to cook and eat but do not want to spend the extra time actually cooking. So any recipes need to be fairly easy, quick to cook, healthy (and relatively meat free - chicken or ground turkey is about all I can choke down at any given time) and fun to eat. Couscous or not, please pass them on to us.

We are desperate - when Matthew hears our doorbell or even if he does not, Matthew regularly talks about the "Pizza Man coming, Pizza man here"... EKKK! If you do not have ideas, let us know about delivery that is some what healthy that we can tap into so we can change it up from the usual 'zza (NO Chinese please!)
