Book Review #1

Okay I love books. I love to read. Can I make that known in a louder more obnoxious way? I would talk books 24/7 if I could. A dream job would be reading. I have considered in my life working at a book store (B&N), becoming a Librarian (for real - when I lived in Milwaukee - I even applied for the job and everything!), becoming a Publisher (HA!), and writing (even bigger HA!). So I am starting a book review here. This will likely will not be a REGULAR thing because I read in fits and spurts but I will try my best to do as often a possible.

I mentioned Water for Elephants this morning. SO good, easy to read, read it. My friend, Jen from Detroit, recommended and let me borrow Waiting for Birdy. OH thank you Jen. I am only through the first "season" but I have not laughed so hard since I read that book by Jenny McCarthy, Belly Laughs. Only this book is better, more real, I can relate to Catherine. I want to be her friend and chat with her about the things she writes about. I laughed until I almost fell off the elliptical machine (okay I had to stop because I was laughing so hard and I was scared I would fall off - same diff!), I read parts of it aloud to Kevin the other night and I almost peed my pants (okay at this stage in the game not too hard to accomplish but still...) It rocks. This book. And this is only 35 pages into this memoir. I remember that she wrote and posted stuff on Babycenter.com around the time I was pregnant and had Matthew but I never read her stuff. I was too tired/busy/cranky but I am glad I have the chance to read it now.

If you have not read it, borrow/buy/check from the library this book or re-read it if it has been awhile! It is lovely and funny - whether you have kids or not!

Thanks again JEN!

I'm glad you like it- I LOVED that book. I read it while waiting in the Jury Duty waiting room and was snickering through the whole thing.

May I also recommend another funny one (although not as funny as Waiting for Birdy it also made me laugh): Sippy Cups are Not for Chardonnay...and other things I had to learn as a new mom. Just finished this one and got a kick out of it as well. You should check it out!

Thanks for book idea Jen. I need slug my way through about 50 books right now but I will definitely look into that one as well!

Annie: Water for Elephants is really a great read! I was reading most of Waiting for Birdy to Kevin last night I think I annoyed him but whatever, I had to share because it made me laugh so hard. He told me that it was book written by me from my POV on life and that is why I liked it so much. WHATEV!
