36 Weeks, 1 Day

I feel like crappy crap today. Ms. Baby Princess Pancake is hanging LO. Like lower then I ever ever ever remember Matthew being mostly because Matthew being Matthew was tucked up comfortably under my rib cage (sucking his thumb of course) and not even inducing that kid made him come down this low, I swear.

Last night, I slept from about midnight till 2:30p. Then I was up from 2:30 till oh say around 5:00a. I feel like Denise Richards (anyone else watch trashy E reality TV? OMG, my brain... I cannot tell if I am feeling dumber from having watched that show during Matthew's nap yesterday or being up half the night...) Any who, I really have no idea what time I finally fell back to sleep because I just stopped watching the clock. What woke me up at 2:30a? A contraction followed by cramp-y feelings followed closely by OMG is there ONE, just one for the love all that is good, ONE comfortable position this ever loving bed?!

Mostly now I am tired and I am really uncomfortable physically. This is my brain on pregnancy? Yeah that it is. Were you expecting some kind of cohesive thought on this post!? Bahahahaha...

Did I mention I have to use the ladies room every 2.3 seconds and I feel like if I do not 'go' in a "timely" manner there will be, er, issues? Like I should carry an extra set of clothing around with me.

I also have been a spaz in our house. I randomly have ten projects going. I went to look at the pile of photos from hell that has accumulated in the downstairs closet (from hell). I realized I had about 500 magazine stuffed down there. SO I went through the photos and the magazines. That took almost 2 hours of my life. I am in the process of putting together two photo albums, stuffed 500 photos in a third (and called it day) with 10 million other photos to be printed off and put somewhere.

I went through the 900 million toys that Matthew had when he was a baby and required batteries. What the hell were we thinking?! Most were actually gifts and I remember thinking please lord NO MORE TOYS WITH BATTERIES at one point. I dug out all of the batteries (even the ones that spewed battery acid everywhere from sitting out in the freezing cold/boiling heat of our garage back when we said 'one was enough...') We set up a battery charging station which is still processing 50 different kind of rechargeable batteries. Weeee! There are still four toys and a bouncer without batteries. I do not think we have enough rechargeable batteries despite the fact that we bought the power pack at Sam's two years ago.

I decided to clean the pile of pictures accumulated over the past two years that Matthew has made. It broke my heart to make a keep and throw away pile. Matthew saw Kevin taking the throw away pile out and wailed about it until I told him Daddy was putting it in the garage for safe keeping. WHAT?! Stop looking at me like that. I had to say something, it was right before bed and I kept most of the stuff. Much of what I got rid of was from BDLC or our house from when he first learned to use a crayon. I recycled much of the paper for use on the other side too. PLEASE STOP LOOKING AT ME LIKE THAT...

I believe but could be wrong that Matthew has hit a growth spurt. He has been eating like a fiend. Prior to this past week we had to fight to get him to eat his breakfast and/or dinner. He has suddenly taken to eating everything on his plate minus the veggies and the crusts of bread (which where did he learn about that?!) It has been pleasant even though I know it will not last forever. He has taken to falling down a lot and not on purpose.

The house gets cleaned today, thank goodness. One more day and I might have done it on my own.

We did NOT get the baby's room finished. Still lacking three main items plus shelves for the wall even though I spent a small fortune at Target on Saturday. Target does it again. Sucked me in with a list and spit me out with 12 random items I did not even KNOW I needed. I even heard a man say to his wife "oh honey I just remembered I need razors" and they turned back literally as they got to the check out area and were sucked back into the vortex known as Target. Do you think that big red bull's eye has some subliminal message in it?! Something like: Buy more items you do not need.

It's the weekend!

Yeah for us! I love the weekend. Mostly because I get to spend 48 uninterrupted hours with Matthew and Kevin!

Weekend plans include:
  • A picnic party this evening at one of my co-workers who lives in the posh section of town and has a home that I only dream of having (yeah because we would so need to change jobs - she was lawyer for a high end firm for almost 20 years and her hubby is a prof with tenure in the business dept) - I mean come on it has a turret and a pond in the backyard - who wouldn't want this house!?
  • I have my 1st weigh-in at WW. Hip hip hooray. NOT so much. I doubt I have lost weight. I have been a good little point keeper and not ONE dessert (that ought to read ICE CREAM) has passed my lips but not one day of working out has occurred either. Plans to start that next week are in play. I think that will be the kicker - working out and eating right - what a terribly novel thought!
  • The farmer's market just because and I want more corn from the that little booth with the nice lady (screw the long line - that corn was not as great everyone told us it would be so for us it is not worth the wait!)
  • I need to clean clean clean the house. Our bathrooms are shameful. Still no house cleaner... Cannot decide who to go with and still not sure how comfortable I feel letting a stranger in my home to clean... UGH. Getting over it, slowly.
  • Go shopping. I just want to. I need to. I have no idea what for but I feel the urge to do this again and again and again... Oh but I do want to get Matthew a baby doll. That is high on my priority list - ah that mean Tarrrrrrrrrrget... said in a dreamy way!
  • Call my Daddy because he is freaking 66 years old today. Holy crap - yeah I about pooped in my pants when I did the math today. It seems impossibly old for my dad! Happy Birthday!
  • Maybe go for a bike ride depending on this oppressive heat, maybe a walk... something to get the above planned workouts started.
  • Groceries - oh how I hate thee but need thee to sustain my family from eating out every day of the week...
  • Go to snapfish.com and get a few more photos printed for Matthew's construction themed room that seems to be taking me FOREVER to put together. By the time it is done he will have moved on to other things...
  • Finish reading that Cooking Light magazine before the next one comes and maybe, heaven forbid, finish reading that book I have been reading for what seems like a year so I can start to tackle the pile beside my bed which is threatening to topple on my head as I sleep at night...
  • Certainly and most definitely not the last thing on my list, but I wanted to save the best for last, snuggle, cuddle, and play with Matthew. He is loving that pool right now - he likes it best when I actually jump in and get wet with him. He finds it particularly amusing when he gets me sopping wet while fully clothed (yeah because I am SO not putting on bathing suit... hahahahaha...)
What are you doing this weekend? Hopefully you can escape the heat and enjoy your weekend!

Bubbles bubbles in his bath

We talk a lot about bubbles in our house. I have this feeling that if Matthew could express it better he would say the whole wide world should be covered in bubbles so he could run around blowing and popping them.

We usually take out a bottle of bubbles about once a month and make a mess but I will be happy to make that mess outside once spring rolls around here (soon, right? spring is SOON right?!??! said with eye twitching...) I love doing "projects" with Matthew but selling our house has really been hard on the old "projects" thing. All his art supplies, beloved bubbles and play dough are up high where he can not see them and on top of that we keep them locked away in his closet - poor kid, I am probably stifling his creative side but I NEED to keep the house clean so people do not come in and flee because it is so gross they could hardly consider buying our home, let alone live in it... I digress.

Matthew also loves the bubbles in his bath. So over the past few months I have been exploring the bubble market and can I tell you, it stinks. Have you ever gone to the baby section in Target and looked at the bubble bath offerings for kids??? Okay, first off I must has been in la-la land because I do not remember everything having a character on it when I was a kid. Matthew's Oral-B toothpaste - Thomas the train. Same goes for the bubbles. I can buy any sort of bubble bath with Elmo, Thomas, or Curious George but I could barely find bubble bath that is just plain old bubble bath. Not to mention has anyone looked at the ingredients on bubble bath, ever?! YIKES. SO I settled for Johnson & Johnson Vapor bath mostly because he was so sick so often for a while there. The smell is sort nice in an odd menthol eye numbing sort of way but I knew I was missing something. There had to be a perfect product out there.

This is becoming much longer then I intended of course so I will try to be concise here - I was in Bloomingfoods (local co-op) and I saw it as if a light from above was shining on it...CALIFORNIA BABY. Then I saw the price and I fled from the store in tears. Here is the product in question: http://www.californiababy.com/bath-time.html.

I wanted it but could not have it - the price, the amount of money I already spend shopping at Bloomingfoods - Kevin would just NOT have it. Then the other day, lo and behold, there it was on the shelf at Target. $11.95 Same price as Bloomingfoods but much easier to get away with. SO I bought it and I love it, er I mean Matthew loves it. It has it all - NO Sodium Lauryl (SLS) or DEA, extremely biodegradable, all natural and it has little wands for Matthew and I to blow bubbles in the bath - NO MESS! They smell yummy and I can buy additional essential oils to add to his bath. I, uh I mean Matthew is in Heaven. Kevin thinks it is lame - whatever Canada boy.

Watch out we have natural, yummy smelling, wand making bubble bath BUBBLES in the house!
