I enjoyed my weekend in degrees. I was distraught over the fact that I seem to be increasingly sick despite the fact that time I am taking more and more medicine in order to feel better. One positive: the ripping roaring pounding brain blistering headache I had the first three days seems to be gone (KNOCK ON WOOD). This too shall pass but please let this pass quickly because seriously I have been in tears all morning because this is week #4 or 5 of feeling like complete shit for various reasons. I am also trying with all of my being to not feel sorry for myself so I am moving on from this topic.
I had an acupuncture appt. that was short and nice (and seriously TMI but she is like the anecdote to constipation...)
I had a hair appt. Chopped my hair - I like it okay - I wish I had a hairdresser with more experience but whatever. The best part of the appointment was the massage thing she did when she shampooed my hair!
I had a pedicure and the company of uplifting women to brighten my afternoon!
I cleaned my house a bit. Dusted, vacuumed, cleaned some windows. Not near as much as I hoped to accomplish but again whatever.
I stared blankly at the TV, watching hours of HGTV just because I could.
I slept in relatively speaking till 8:00a both Saturday and Sunday.
I spent most of both weekend afternoons out in the yard, gardening, cleaning up the winter debris, & LOVING the new dog poop composter... will explain that one another day! Letting the sun soak into my winter white skin.
I stayed up the wee hours of the night watching bad TV for no good reason.
I did the laundry.
I exchanged baby clothing with Melissa - thank you! You rock MM!!! I wish I could have contributed more to your pile!
I went grocery shopping and bought some stuff I needed at Clinque.
The best & brightest spot was coming home from groceries to my beaming boys. M laughed, screamed & jumped up and down. He was shaking all over. He could not even make it up the stairs, I ran down to him. He hugged me so tight and that felt so good. He said "Mommy we home. We see Grandma and Grandpa. We home now." He smiled, held my face in his hands and kissed my cheek. "I am drawing. Wanna see?" I said 'yes' and let M lead me.
He looked different to me - more grown up, he seemed bigger, more well spoken, excited about all his "stuff". Wanting to share all his thoughts as quickly as possible so he did not forget anything that he wanted to tell me. I smiled with tears in my eyes.
I thought how so very glad they were home and I was not alone any more because man it was nice but oh so hard to miss two people you love so much. I hope everyone had a weekend as glorious and joyous as mine!

* "It rains nine months a year in Seattle"
We made it back from Seattle, more specifically Mukilteo/Everett area. It was fun to see my parents and brother. However, it was a short LONG trip. The time change and being pregnant combined with an almost 3 year old kicked my butt!
We had great weather for Seattle this time of year (or so we were told...) It only rained on Sunday but otherwise we had breathtaking views of the snow capped mountains and the sound.
I have to rave about the hotel we stayed at. It was right in Mukilteo and called the Silver Cloud Inn. It was lovely. The rooms were big, clean and practically brand new with great service overall. It was right on the border of being a bed and breakfast but not quite. The views were breathtaking and we were right on the beach with the trains going by behind us and the ferries coming and going all day long in front of us. My son's dream location basically! Okay and I was totally wooed by the Aveda products they had in the room!
We visited a park/farm in Bellevue, the Children's Museum and Seattle Aquarium and took a drive onto the ferry out on Whidby Island on the rainy morning. Otherwise, we hung out with the parents and my brother. Matthew got to color eggs at Oma's house and my mom cooked a yummy meal. Matthew had not one but two egg hunts on Easter morning and was thrilled to find out the Easter bunny could visit a hotel room! My dad cooked a big meal for Easter and we just hung out at their house the afternoon. All in all it was a good trip but I definitely glad to be done traveling for the duration of this pregnancy.
I was pretty sick on the very bumpy plane ride into Indianapolis yesterday afternoon (it was really windy apparently...) I never get sick on planes and the only other time I have felt this sick on a plane was flying when I was first pregnant with Matthew so pregnancy and flying do not mix well for me. It was good to come home, get the dogs and try to get some rest before coming to work this morning. I still need to get groceries and do a ton of laundry but whatever we will eventually. I will try to post photos tonight or tomorrow night.
Oh and we bought a laptop and what we need to network the laptop to the desktop from my brother's computer shop! We are excited to get that in the coming weeks! I cannot tell you how nice it will be to have easy access to a computer that we can move around especially while I am out on maternity leave and will be trying to do some work.
Today, I have an OB appt. - mostly I am nervous to step on the scales after the non stop junk food fest we had while in Seattle. UGH...
Coming up, Kevin and Matthew will be traveling without me in two weeks so Matthew can see his other set of Grandparents in a couple of weeks. I am staying home to have a weekend on my own. I had little desire to do the trip esp. since supposedly his parents are also planning to drive down for Matthew's birthday two weeks later (grumble grumble grumble...) I am sad to miss traveling with Matthew which seriously I love - he is great at it and has such a great perspective on things that we as adults never see! Plus I will just miss my boys tremendously.
On the bright side, I have a hair and acupuncture appt. planned! And I am considering a pedicure as well! I am hoping to get to the big city to do some summer maternity clothes shopping (as well as little girl clothes shopping!!!) After talking with Kelly this morning, I think we may hit up the local theater this weekend to see a movie.
Other than that we are back! Hip hip hooray!

I'm BACKKKKKKK...
Yes, yes I did survive. Though I do have to admit I did shed some tears over Northern Indiana (around Fort Wayne which may not shock some of you as you may know the loathing I feel toward that city...) I am still not sure I shed those tears due to the horrible turbanlance or the fact that I stopped reading Wondertime to grip the seat in panic & fear of the turbanlance thus giving my brain time to think about the fact that my boy was miles and miles away likely warm and snuggly in his bed... Though it was reported to me that Kevin had to live with a 4o minute epic meltdown when Matthew finally realized Mommy was not really hiding in the basement. Kevin resorted to getting out photo albums and they kept a bunch of photos of me out which Matthew picked and apparently slept with. Also there were several other melt down moments regarding Mommy but none like the EPIC one on Saturday morning.
All in all everyone survived the weekend without incident. Well, other the incident where apparently Matthew tried to pull the bottom box filled with a beloved exavator in the toy section at Wally World thus toppling the OTHER boxes onto his nose (not his face because I made the fatal error of saying his face and was corrected immediately by the little tyke...) and leaving a lovely NEW scratch to add to the others! It was a lovely weekend of chatting, eating and shopping - oh and we went to the shower too ;) I am VERY glad I had the chance to see Jen in all of her pregnant glory and spend some girl time with her before the little guy makes his apparence in Febraury!
However, I was still very glad to have kisses and hugs from this little face when I FINALLY arrived back (after a TWO hour delay in Detroit... Good news is I almost finished a book while we waited for the wing to be repaired... Never a dull moment in a two day trip to Detroit :)

Also, here finally are some Halloween photos - never too late for those right? I mean they have pumpkins in them which is sort of Thanksgiving themed, right? Never mind - just enjoy!
